Capital Farm Credit

My wife and I asked for a fixed rate loan for raw land in 2021. The loan officer, Ben Wilson, said he could help us. We both had 800+ credit scores and we put 20% down. He showed us the current rates on a 20 year loan. We accepted and went to sign the papers. He explained all the documents we were signing except the document about the rate. He showed us the rate which appeared to be fixed and we signed the paper like all the rest. We went home and made our payments for 3 years, then Ben called us and told us he was raising our rates. He informed me that the loan we signed was for a variable interest rate. I asked for a copy of the documents and they sent them to us. I looked over the fine print and sure enough, the rate was variable. I asked him if he would have taken this loan himself and he said "no". Neither my wife nor myself have ever had a variable rate loan. We've never missed a payment on anything in our lives. Why did Ben pull the wool over our eyes? We are now stuck with this awful loan. I can't, in good conscience, recommend Capital Farm Credit to anybody. They will take advantage of you to line their pockets. I'm not sure how Ben sleeps at night and looks his family in the eyes and says "I do good work for people".
