Imagine saying your company stands for “ Employee benefit plans make the employees feel that the organization cares about them. ”… while having RUDE employees curse you out, because they don’t understand how a delivery app works…how about next time you go out, pick up the food, and go back to the office, while delivering another order, while having someone EXPLODE your cellphone, to the point you can’t look at the map to get back or look at the details of the delivery! Yeah, very professional NATALIE E!!!! Thanks for the curse and the bad review on my record! Helps a lot!

I wish it were possible to rate negative stars. First off, I've been paying premiums to EBS for over a decade between policies at two different worksites. Many $$$$ spent over that time.
In November of 2022 I was diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel syndrome of both wrists and scheduled surgery for February 3rd, 2023. I created a claim well in advance to utilize my short term disability policy to cover my finances while I was going to be out of work for 3 months.
On February 1st, a UNUM associate (EBS's primary insurance provider) calls me while I'm attending the pre-operation examination and informed me that my claim had been denied due to "mention" of the usage of wrist splints by my primary care doctor during an annual checkup in April of 2022 that just so happened to be outside of the covered period.
This was NOT a diagnosis, nor did it actually have anything to do with my carpal tunnel diagnosis that was made DURING the covered period, in January, 2023. This was a complete overreach made by UNUM and was facilitated by EBS through shady practices conducted by both entities.
After some back-and-forth discussion with the UNUM representative, I resorted to cancelling all insurance policies with EBS and UNUM and advise anyone with IAM union benefits to read every bit of fine print. They'll only provide you with basic information that sounds great at the beginning and you'll discover through various online outlets that these plans are affordable for a reason.
They're constructed to fail you and benefit them.
