I am not someone who leaves lots of reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience. Our relationship with JC Harter / Goosehead started off well in the first year—responsive, upbeat, and attentive. Unfortunately, from year two onward, the service deteriorated completely. Over years two, three, and four, there were no proactive check-ins, no annual reviews, no effort to re-shop our policies, and no meaningful discussion about rising premiums. What did happen was staggering premium increases across our home and umbrella policies—despite no claims and no material changes in coverage. When I repeatedly asked for our policies to be re-shopped, responses were delayed, dismissive, or never came. On one occasion, the response was essentially “it is what it is—mine went up too,” which is not acceptable from a broker whose job is to advocate for clients. Ultimately, we moved all of our insurance (home, auto, and umbrella) away from Goosehead in July 2025 due to lack of service and accountability. Astonishingly, in January 2026, we were still charged an annual premium through Goosehead for insurance we no longer had— an error that never should have happened...and I wish I could say I'm making this up... If you are looking for a broker who will actively manage your account, communicate clearly, and regularly review options as premiums rise, this agency was not that for us. Initial friendliness does not make up for years of inattention and costly neglect. Do better for your clients.
