I went into this branch and they had me wait for an hour to verify my check and they called my customer 3 different times insinuating that I had stolen the check I guess a black man can’t make a certain amount of money but the lady at the front desk was very fake with me smiling and labeling me a thief but there will be a lawsuit for defamation of my character as soon as I get everything put together for my lawyer it’s 2026 and people still think so low of a young black guy just trying to make it

We had high hopes for this bank and have met many, many wonderful people who work here. Unfortunately, the good naturedness of the team has been met with a small business lending experience that has been detrimental to our own operation and to our faith in this lender. We were over 20 days delayed on closing with MANY additional request for more paperwork. After eventually closing, we had to resign all loan documentation because initial documents were incorrect. Then, approximately one month after closing, we were informed that yet again the numbers were wrong. Despite lending documents signed, and money we had already given the bank, we were told we owe them more. The incorrect paperwork combined with additional funds requested after closing is unmatched in my experience. I do not, nor will I ever recommend this bank to anyone for any financial needs they may have.

Before moving to Houston in 2015, I was involved with a boutique neighborhood bank back home. Plains State Bank reminds me of that level of service. Weston Johnson is our go to lender and love when I have the opportunity to connect him with other business owners. The man knows his stuff and he knows how to work! Happy to refer
