I have been a member of the Port Of Houston credit union for over 30 years. It has gone downhill. I will no longer be a member of this credit union due to several reasons. You get a voicemail almost every-time you call, they never return calls or emails. I asked for a skip a pay in May of the year 2021. I had a car payment for around $350.00 per month and two signature loans I got at the same time. I woke up the next morning and had way too much money in my account. The credit union had put my car payment into my account 4 to 5 times over and my two signature loan payments into my account about the same amount of times. I called them and they said they would get it straightened out. I ended up with way less money than I started with by the time they started taking the money back out of my account. My two signature loans I got on the same day in the same amount were never the same amount. Each one had a different balance due. We still to this day don’t know what happened and no one could ever explain it to us.
Also Matt McBride was calling during credit union working hours asking me to start working for his travel agency he was starting on the side. I told him I was not interested but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. When I stopped responding to his calls and emails his attitude toward me was never the same. It affected the way he treated me at the credit union any time I asked him anything. I still have the emails.
My husband and I asked for a $1500.00 loan to fix our central air. We called and emailed to find out if the application had been received and to find out if we made any errors .He would never called or emailed us back after five days. My husband just had open heart surgery a few days before this and we were really getting hot and uncomfortable. Then the cold front came and we were freezing. Finally my husband happened to get a hold of Matt and he said it would be a while because he was very busy. Matt waited a week to tell us I forgot to sign the loan application and a few more days to say we couldn’t use the same person as a reference. We finally got a letter from him stating we weren’t getting the loan due to our credit score. Our credit score went down while my husband and I were in the hospital hoping for the doctors to save his life. Matt had told us he could add the $1500.00 to our signature loan we already had but if I credit was bad the interest rate would go up. Ashley said that they don’t let you add onto a signature loan. So, it’s like no one knows what the other one is doing or saying and what the rules really are. I am finished. I will be having my direct deposit put into a credit union that knows what they are doing and not flying by the seat of their pants.
Another thing Ashley said was that they were very busy and couldn’t answer the phone all the time. They were just too busy. After our phone call this morning, our cats walked across my phone and it dialed the credit union since that was the last number on my phone that I called. We have six cats that people drop off. The credit union called me back three times back-to-back. I guess the cats got better service than my husband and I received. Lol.
I worked in the purchasing department for over 32 years and there were two buyers with four phone lines each. If our calls ever went to voicemail we were told by the CEO we would be fired. I had to get bids for items for Central Maintenance, Barbours Cut and Bayport. Talk about busy but I bet my phone never went to voicemail. Times have changed for the worse. Maybe AI is a better way. Also, sometimes when I log in to my account it says I have to have a code sent to my email or texted to me. Sometimes it doesn't require a pass code. What is that about????? I wanted to change my password, and the system would not email me a code to change it and locked me out. I talked to Matt McBride and he said you have to get a notification send to your email. I explained that the system wasn't working and I wasn't getting the required code sent to me.
