Nick is the worst insurance agent I’ve ever dealt with. I used him for three years, and my rates increased every year. When I tried reaching out last year by phone, text, and email, I never received a response. After finally shopping my policies, I found identical coverage for over $1,500 less per year than what I was quoted at renewal. That alone made the decision to leave easy. I would strongly recommend avoiding him if you value communication and an ongoing relationship, rather than just a transactional experience. After I canceled, his response was: “Hope it’s the same company and coverage. Not all insurance companies are the same.” To be fair, this review is not a reflection of Smith Allen as a whole, since I haven’t worked with any other agents there. I’ve seen many positive reviews mentioning proactive communication—calls, texts, and personal touches—which was not my experience. I did receive a call from the owner after canceling, which suggests the company does care about its reputation. While my experience with Nick was disappointing, it does seem that other agents at the firm prioritize building real client relationships.
