If I could give less than one star, I would. I have an MRI scheduled on my C-Spine tomorrow. Never heard anything from the testing site so I called. UHC denied my MRI. Why you might wonder??? I haven't had 6 weeks of treatment for the very problem we are trying to diagnose. Apparently now to get an MRI of your neck approved you must have been on medication or have had injections (this is literally what she told me as options for treatment that fit the criteria for the MRI) for at least 6 weeks for them to approve the test to diagnose the problem. That seems very backward and more expensive. Most doctors don't treat a problem if they don't know what it is.
We are going back to the real question of who is in charge of healthcare. My doctor wants the MRI to know how to treat me. My insurance says no just treat something before we will let you do that. So who is practicing medicine here?
Oh and the real kicker is that we (my doctor and I) know what the problem is from the MRI I had last year. Every disc in my cervical spine is bulging or protruding with extreme narrowing of the foramen. This MRI was to determine how much worse it's gotten since I can't do injections. We've been waiting and watching to avoid any extreme options but my pain has increased significantly. Seems like their way would end up with more money spent anyway.
I hate UHC and I hate the way health insurance gets to decide what treatment a patient gets. That is why doctors went to med school. Let them do their damn job!!

There really bad about telling you the facts. It doesn't matter what it is don't trust em, there lying. I wasent told about important facts regading myplan. Like dental is 50% Co pay. Instead was told Im getting 5k dental ins. Dint bother telling me I have to pay 5k, just happened to leave that out. I told him I'm right for money. Then I was told my U Card could pay for utilitys, But it can't I was told my U Card could pay for grocery's but it can't. Thell tell you anything but the truth. I could go on but I'd rather file complaint against UHC

Why is it so much harder than necessary just to use my own FSA funds at a PHARMACY for PRESCRIPTIONS because suddenly they are no longer an “eligible merchant”? It’s literally my money I have set aside for healthcare expenses, I don’t need your input on what merchant SELLING MEDICATION I spend with. And of course you call into support and get someone who it’s impossible to communicate with and reach a resolution.
