Spoke w/ Rodrigo about a home quote and boy did he belittle me. I am an insurance adjuster of 25 years and he told me that fences w/ wear and tear are covered under homeowners insurance. This is not true.He belittled me about my roof because I didn’t want to file a claim to get a new one.He said no company would cover me and pay ACV, which is another lie because my current policy is set up to cover ACV.I told him I wanted the state required minimum with the highest deductible and the lowest 2% for wind, hail etc and he said there was no such thing and even said I should be very concerned about my biggest asset that my children live under. My children? He then proceeded to ask me why my home was blurred on Google Maps and why he wasn’t able to see it.That’s none of his business. He asked if I was law enforcement or military and if that was why my home was blurred.Again, none of his business. If he was going to offer me a discount for LE and/or military, that would be a different story but nope.He was rude, unprofessional, gave me wrong advice, outright lies. As mentioned above,I have over 25 years experience as an adjuster.I didn’t want to tell him this at the beginning of the call bcuz I wanted to see if this was an honest company.Turns out, they’re not. This company wants to bully you into buying a very expensive homeowner’s policy that I personally will never use.Coverage is determined by what I want, not what he feels I need.Steer clear if you want a basic policy only to satisfy mortgage mandates.Otherwise, if you’ve got money to burn, Rodrigo is your guy.Edit:The rep’s reply is deeply concerning and serves as a significant red flag. This is not the professional manner in which a reputable insurance company should respond when a customer raises legitimate questions or concerns.Threats of defamation are misplaced, as truthful statements based on facts do not constitute defamation. It is well-established that standard Texas homeowners insurance policies do not cover fences for normal wear and tear—coverage applies only to sudden, accidental damage from covered perils.Additionally, the rep’s decision to disclose my name in a public forum—after I had explicitly requested it be blurred out due to safety concerns stemming from a violent crime—demonstrates a serious lack of professionalism and disregard for customer privacy and safety. If anything, the representative should exercise greater caution, as this action may have unnecessarily exposed my personal information. I intend to share my experience with friends, family, and professional affiliates, and I will strongly advise them against doing business with this company. This interaction has reinforced my decision not to proceed with a policy. My choice not to purchase coverage has no bearing on my existing policy or any potential claim and should not influence how I am treated as a consumer. The condescending and defensive tone displayed—both in writing and during our phone conversation—suggests an unprofessional “power trip” that is unacceptable from a customer service representative. I am prepared to escalate this matter to the appropriate supervisors and regulatory authorities. No potential or existing customer should be spoken to in such a discourteous and intimidating manner simply for questioning policy details or declining coverage based on perceived untruthfulness or lack of courtesy. I remind the company of its obligations under Texas law, including Texas Insurance Code Chapter 601 and 28 TAC §§ 22.1–22.26 (the Insurance Consumer Financial Information Privacy rules adopted by the Texas Department of Insurance), which govern the proper handling and protection of consumer information. This written response mirrors the rep’s conduct during our call. Such behavior is unacceptable and warrants further review.Edit: Rodrigo has still not addressed any of my issues. He’s called me MORE names and tried to belittle me even more. I see he’s removed his reply to my original review. Good! **Edit:I’m now getting spammed with porn emails. Geeze-I wonder who signed me up for that!
