I unfortunately had a very frustrating experience using Security Title for the sale of my home. Throughout the process, there were repeated communication and organizational issues that made an already stressful transaction much more difficult. The escrow officer repeatedly requested documents that had already been provided, and despite multiple conversations explaining that I purchased the home before I was married and that my husband had never lived there, I was still repeatedly asked whether he was a party to the sale. There were also significant delays and errors on the title side. My mortgage payoff was not requested until 3 days before closing, forcing me to scramble to obtain it myself. The closing documents initially contained incorrect final numbers, and I had to repeatedly follow up about moving the closing date up even though the purchase contract clearly stated we were ready to close ASAP. Communication between the escrow officer and her assistant appeared disorganized, and several of my emails went unanswered. At one point, I was told everything was complete on title’s end, while the lender stated they were still waiting on title to provide needed items. Most disappointing was that I did not receive my wire transfer on the same day as closing due to the lack of planning and document issues. Overall, the process felt unnecessarily stressful because of poor communication, lack of attention to detail, and delays that could have been avoided. Based on this extremely unfortunate experience, I would not use Security Title again and would not recommend them to others. Selling a home is stressful enough without having to constantly follow up, correct mistakes, and manage communication issues throughout the process. I expected a much higher level of organization and professionalism.

This title company issued a deed without checking who owned the property. I had a property sale fall through because they clouded the title. They took no responsibility and refused to answer any emails from me. I have to hire an attorney now and waste time and money.
